If you're an event organiser, worrying is a natural state of being.  You worry about the weather, about sporting fixtures - "oh no, United are playing at two!" - you worry about nobody turning up.  There's even more to worry about but you get the picture.

Fortunately, our 11th August 60s-themed Toggery Fair proved to be a truly memorable day despite - disaster number one - a rainy morning, and - disaster number two - none of the scooters we were assured would attend actually appeared!  (This may have been due to disaster number one).

Not to worry, we were charmed and delighted by the Stockport Ukelele Players who got everyone singing along to their jolly interpretations of 1960s classic pop tunes.  And who knew that TV-show-prize-winning-antiques-expert and 1960s specialist trader Andy of Dabberdecades was such a talented DJ?

Our visitors (and not a few traders) got busy trawling the many and varied stalls heaving with vintage goodies, and here's all the photos we've found online - so far! - which they were nice enough to share with the world.

All photos link back to their original pages, and you can click on the Twitter names to meet some of the stylish and tasteful people we are proud and privileged to welcome to our picturesque little corner of Stockport. (Compulsory warning: of course, we are not responsible for any content on links outside this website).

If you would like to add your photo to our Visitors' Gallery, just tweet it @Vintage_Village or post it on our Facebook page.

Many thanks to everyone!  I must learn to stop worrying so much.

"Luckily for my purse strings I only had half an hour for a mooch as there was plenty of fab stalls with lots of gorgeous treasure . From Snygg I bought a pair of barkcloth curtains and a super container , the cute owl tea towel is from The Side Room. Finally a Malteaser Brownie which is now no more ! Yum yum - Jodi Jo Retro is back with a stall at the September birthday fair and I will be posting sneaky peaks in the next few weeks xx"
